He's energetic and friendly which makes learning more fun and engaging. He helps simplify things which helped me understand certain parts of a song better. He writes down notes when we play the song to visually aid us with learning the song, however the notes can sometimes be a bit messy which confuses me at times.

Great teacher, listens to what the student wants and puts it into the lesson.

Sam is a wonderful drum teacher and my son loves his lessons and has a lot of respect for Sam! Thanks for being patient, energetic and a great rolemodel to my son.

Sam is one of the most dedicated and amazing drum teachers I have ever had. He is always so energised and excited about the songs he is teaching you, with such an eye for the small details that make songs unique, but also a great feel for the overall vibe of the song. This also means he has great lesson structure as he knows the right ways to teach a hard song or a confusing structure. He is also so accommodating to different learning styles and will do everything in his power to help you understand. There is a great balance of immersion in the specific song and great wider knowledge of technical drum skills and explanation of music theory, without being too distracting. I love all my lessons with Sam, he is genuinely such a lovely teacher and person. I would 100% recommend!!!!!

Sam has shown kindness, a ton of patience and enthusiasm to our son and as a result his drumming skills have come on leaps and bounds. We would recommend Sam as a tutor in a heartbeat.

As a parent I have seen so much progression in my son over the last two terms. I feel reassured Leo is in capable hands with Sam’s approach to teaching/learning. Leo (9) said ‘Sam really helps me understand the beats and is really encouraging. I was shy when I started but I feel like Sam has really helped me learn a lot and feel more confident and he’s a really nice teacher.’’
